The production of sperm mainly depends on the functioning the testes thus its production is quit complex. Improper functioning of the hypothalamus and pituitary glands causes low sperm count. Hypothalamus and pituitary glands are the organs which are controlled by the brain to produce hormones. This hormone helps to trigger sperm production. Thus after the production of the sperm, the subtle pipe takes them until they combined with semen and get ejaculate from the body. However in this sensitive processes if any problem occurs it may lead to reduction in the sperm count. And it can also affect the male fertility due to movement of the sperm.
There are many reasons which can cause low sperm count. It may also include health issues and medical treatments which are as follow:
Men’s fertility may also get affected because of swelling of the veins which are responsible for draining the testes.

Medication like anabolic steroids, immunosuppressant medications, testosterone replacement therapy and some ulcer medications affects the male fertility and causes low sperm count.
Medication and health issues are not only responsible for low sperm count but there are certain environmental factors which cam also causes low sperm count in men.
But, health issues and busy lifestyle are considered as prime causes for the low sperm count.
